Time spent waiting in airports is usually mindless and useless for me. Listening to music, reading, browsing a shop or two. While waiting for our return flight to board in Port-au-Prince in August, I came across a Haitian prayer book, God is No Stranger. It captures the depth and simplicity of the spirituality of the Haitian people alongside a picture of the person who offered the prayer. These prayers truly give a glimpse into some of the most resilient and beautiful people I have ever met.
Lord,
We don't get mangos from an avocado tree and we don't get corn from a banana plant.
We produce what we are.
Help us to be
what you need produced.
